Activities of JDF Committees

Activities of JDF are authoried by the board annually under the supervisery of the planning committee and the technical committee. The following 3 committees are on permanent base.

Standardization Committee

This committee aims at the popularization and expansion of DME by extracting and studying problems from the aspect of being a standard fuel, and making an effort to realize them, submitting proposals for establishment as standard fuel for international use.

1.	Establishment of safety and environmental specification
2.	Review of the fuel standard (review of standardization) TS K0011 DME for Fuel has been published on November 2005. ISO/TC28/SC4/WG13 was established (First meeting, Sep. 2007)
3.	Service and measures for laws and regulations which concern transportation and storage
4.	Arranging and proposal of legal system for DME utilization and the method of improving the technology standard

Production Committee

This committee carried out the following activities as the investigations of technologies related with DME production from the various energy resources such as Natural gas, Coal and Biomass, the storage and the transportation.

1.	The investigation of the technologies of the production, the storage and the transportation
2.	The cost performance evaluation (raw material's resources, sites, Feasibility Study and so on)
3.	Evaluation of energy efficiency and C02 emission
4.	Comparative study with other new fuel
5.	Investigation of commercial projects

The subjects about the storage and transportation of DME from the production site to the receiving site (the consumption site) through the marine transportation are reviewed in this Committee.

Utilization Technology Committee

Development and support of the utilization technology to supply DME as a fuel for thermal power generation, an alternative to LPG. diesel engines, small dispersed power resources. fuel cells and so on, the cost performance evaluation based on the utilization pattern, and the investigation of the measures of the preservation of law and order, protection against disasters, safety and environmental protection and so on in regards to DME utilization are reviewed by the UtilizBtion Technology Committee.
The contents reviewed in the Utilization Technology Committee meeting are as follows.

1.	Structure of storage and transportation facilities
2.	Utilization technology for use as a fuel for power generation
3.	Utilization technology for use as an alternative fuel to LPG
4.	Utilization technology for use as a fuel for vehicles
5.	Utilization technology for use as a fuel for fuel cell
6.	Measures for prevention of disasters
7.	Measures for safety and environmental protection
8.	Investigation of market scale
